Specialty grade coffee refers to the highest quality coffee beans, evaluated and scored by certified Q Graders on factors like flavor, aroma, and absence of defects. These beans score 80 points or higher on a 100-point scale and represent less than 10% of the world's coffee. At Herb’s House, we source only specialty grade beans to ensure every cup meets our standards for taste, quality, and consistency.

While not all of our coffees are certified organic, they come from farms dedicated to organic and sustainable practices. We work directly with importers and producers who prioritize environmental responsibility, ethical labor standards, and clean growing methods—even when formal certification isn’t present.

For many of the smallholder and family-run farms we partner with—especially in regions like Africa and Latin America—obtaining certifications such as USDA Organic or Fair Trade can be cost-prohibitive. These certifications often require expensive fees, inspections, and infrastructure that many quality-focused farmers simply can’t afford. That’s why we place just as much value on trusted relationships, responsible practices, and transparent sourcing as we do on third-party certifications.

Our coffee is sourced from top-growing regions around the world, including Central and South America, East Africa, and Southeast Asia. We partner with importers who build strong relationships with producers and cooperatives to ensure traceability, fair pricing, and consistent quality. Every origin we select is chosen for its unique flavor profile and alignment with our quality standards.
